Symposiums imperative to eradicate drug menace

The drug addiction that is on rise in Jammu and Kashmir despite the government’s efforts to resolve the issue, the society has a pivotal role to play in creating awareness about the ramifications of the menace. There are some people within the society, who are ruining the whole system by selling drugs to the youth and thus simultaneously shattering the dreams of many. Besides the role being played by the law enforcing agencies, the society, especially the Non Government Organizations (NGO) and others must have to play their role. In such circumstances, there is a dire need to create awareness among the general public, especially the youngsters to make them aware about the fallout of the drug abuse. One must understand that police cannot deal with the situation alone, but it stands the responsibility of one and all to share their bit in this regard so that the drug menace is eradicated from the society at an earliest. Amid the rise in drug menace, the NGOs must come forward and organize symposiums so that the society will also wake up well on time and the success is achieved. The government as well and the non government organizations should collaborate on such a dangerous issue and help the society to come out from the evil happenings, which would not only assist the affected families, but would also help in reducing the crime on the ground. There is a need to help the affected families to bring back their dear ones to the normal life and one must not stop putting his/her efforts in such issue, which is a religious obligation as well.
