Bhatnagar reviews developmental scenario of Gurez

Visits CHC Dawar, educational institutions, work sites

Bandipora, Jun 11: On the second day of his visit to Gurez Sub-division, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Saturday chaired a meeting with sectoral officers at Dak Banglow here and took stock of all the developmental activities in the region.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmed, SDM Gurez and District and Sub Divisional officers of all the departments attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Advisor took stock of provision of services especially availability of essential commodities in the subdivision and status of various developmental projects.
Speaking during the meeting, the Advisor directed the concerned Executing agencies to complete all the taken up works within stipulated time besides quality of work should be maintained while executing these projects.
While reviewing the R&B sector, the Advisor was informed that construction of span steel bridge over Kishanganga River at Dawar is complete at an approved cost of 122.85 lakhs.
Regarding the construction/upgradation of Saradab Tatroon khutroon road of 2.50 km length, it was given out that Road is at G-2 level and only macdamization work is pending.
Regarding the status of works under NABARD, the Advisor was apprised that 04 projects are ongoing including construction of Achoora Bypaas road at an approved cost of 285.93 lakh, construction of Khandiyal – Kissar road at an approved cost of 300.76 lakhs, Construction of Checkwali Abdulin road at an approved cost of 368.40 lakhs and Construction of Badugam Hoke Road at an approved cost of 336.07 lakhs.
It was also given out that under NABARD, construction/ upgradation of Bagtore Dangan Dassi Road has been completed at an approved cost of 280.74 lakhs.
Reviewing the RDD sector, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora apprised the chair that Gurez subdivision has completed 3 works out of 8 works under DDC Grants and 03 works under BDC grants have been completed out of 18 approved works.
It was also informed that out of 151 works of PRI grants, 39 works have been completed in sub division Gurez.
Reviewing Jal Shakti Department, the DC apprised the chair that under JJM Gurez sub division has 27 schemes at an approved cost of 1918.00 lakhs. It was informed that under languishing scheme, Gurez has 17 schemes at an approved cost of 1950.66 lakhs while in District sector, 5 schemes are approved at an approved cost of 262.25 lakhs.
It was further given out that under NABARD Sub division Gurez has three schemes at an approved cost of 762.44 lakhs.
During his second day of visit, Advisor Bhatnagar also attended final event of Mega Sports Festival organised in connection with Jashn -e- Gurez festival at Helipad Ground here.
People present on the occasion appreciated the efforts of administration for involving local youth in sports and tourism activities.
Earlier, Advisor Bhatnagar visited CHC Dawar Gurez and took stock of facilities being provided to patients. He inspected many sections of CHC and also interacted with patients.
The Advisor also visited Higher Secondary School Dawar to take onspot review of educational and co-curricular activities available to the students. He also interacted with students and took feedback on the learning-teaching outcomes.
Later, the Advisor also inspected various ongoing works including ITI Gurez, Fish pond at Wanpora and Mini secretariat Gurez. He directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work for timely completion of the projects.
