4 years on, Watnard-Zamalgam road in Anantnag awaits completion

Srinagar, Jun 21: In a boost to the Peoples Conference, Kaneez Fatima, a prominent political figure of Karnah, joined the party here on Tuesday.
Fatima, who had secured 2783 votes as an independent candidate in the district development council polls held in 2020, joined the party in presence of its chairman Sajad Gani Lone and top leaders including vice chairman district development council Kupwara Haji Farooq and advocate Salim Mir.
With the joining, the Karnah Assembly segment is set to witness a direct contest between Peoples Conference and National Conference in Assembly polls. The political dynamics have changed in the constituency post delimitation exercise as new area added to the segment is considered as a stronghold of PC.
In the erstwhile territorial limits of Karnah assembly seat, PC has significant presence. It secured 3800 to 2400 votes in all the elections held after 2008.
