DC Bandipora presides over Public Interaction Programme at Sumbal

Bandipora, Jun 22: Continuing with the Block Diwas initiative of LGs Administration, a special public grievance redressal camp was conducted at Sumbal on Wednesday.
The camp witnessed huge public participation who put forth the issues of the area before the District administration team led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad.
Sub-Divisional magistrate Sumbal Dr Bashir Ahmad Lone, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, ACD Bandipora Abdul Rashid Das, Tehsildar Sumbal, SDPO and other senior officers were present on the occasion besides members of Panchayat raj Institutions, public delegations and social activists.
On the occasion numerous delegations called on the DC and apprised him about various issues of public interest. They raised the issue regarding construction of roads, Foot bridges and other public utility structures besides urging admin to ensure regular supply of electricity, sufficient staff and other infrastructure in schools and colleges, development of parks, Healthcare facilities etc.
The DC gave patient hearing to all the delegations and individuals and enquired from the officers about the particular issues raised by the people and also passed on-spot directions to resolve several issues.
While interacting with the public, DC said the administration is working tirelessly to ease the sufferings of the people and ensure social justice. He said the aim of reaching out to the people on a weekly basis is to reach at the doorsteps of people to listen to their grievances. He said the grievances raised during these programmes are religiously followed till their logical conclusion.
Dr. Owais directed officers to expedite the pace of work so that works are completed within stipulated time. He said no unnecessary delays or interruptions will be acceptable and warned of strict action against those involved in unnecessary delays and interruptions in public works.
The DC directed the concerned to prioritise the works related to education, electricity and water supply. He asked the locals to actively participate in Gram Sabhas to become part of the decision making process in their respective Panchayats and also urged the officers to be in touch with PRI members and ensure redressal of grievances at earliest.
Similar Public Grievance Redressal Camp under Block Diwas was held in Tulail block of sub division Gurez.
