In a step towards transparency, the administration in Jammu and Kashmir has been day-in and day-out working hard to put an end to the corruption in the Union Territory. Many officers, officials have been trapped and subsequently arrested for demanding and accepting bribe from the common masses for the work pending within the departments for a longer time. Such a practice, as per the incumbent dispensation, was going on for years now, but according to them will not be tolerated any further. The concerned agency Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been putting efforts to lay a trap almost every day to identify the black sheep that are pushing the general masses to the wall. Besides, the fresh initiative taken by Srinagar police has given a strong message to the government employees that corruption is not acceptable and those involved will be taken to task. Police have appealed to the general public to bring to light any demand of bribe or favour from any officer, personnel of district police on a mobile number, which is directly under supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar. Such a step would help in ensuring transparency on the ground and would help in identifying the government employees, who are pushing the people to the wall and making their lives miserable. The people should also cooperate with the government and police in bringing the corrupted faces to the fore so that necessary steps and actions are taken well on time to put an end to the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir.
