Budgam, Jul 25: Lack of mobile connectivity and ATM services at two famous tourist resorts—Yousmarg and Doodhpatri in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has been leaving the visiting tourists disappointed
The locals from the area said that both the places, Yousmarg and Doodpathri, have no mobile connectivity and ATM machine which results in tremendous hardships to those who visit these spots.
The residents from Yousmarg blamed the government for being unable to provide the facilities like good network coverage and ATMs. They stated that tourists always feel annoyed here as they complain about telecommunication problems, and lack of other facilities, especially ATM.
“If the tourists here need money, they have to cover 15 km distance to use ATM,” a local resident at Yousmarg said.
Pony wallas, restaurant owners and shopkeepers at these picturesque places told KNO that they have been facing problems even when Kashmir is witnessing a good flow of tourists.
“Government is unable to develop these places and provide the facilities like good network coverage, ATMs, and adventurous sports facilities. Instead, a heavy toll is charged on taxis and cars ferrying tourists,” they said.
Locals from the Doodpathri area said that lack of basic facilities disappoint tourists.
The residents and tourists have appealed to the administration to look into the matter and ensure mobile connectivity and ATM facility is made available at these places.
