Coronavirus: One death, 397 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Aug 1: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 703 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,551 while one more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 4,772.
An official said that among 397 new cases, 275 belong to Kashmir division while as 122 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 293,634 including 288,276 recoveries and 2,429 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 171,529 including 167,564 recoveries and 2,343 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,551 including 2,929 from Kashmir division and 1,622 from Jammu division.
With 704 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 455,840 which is 97.99 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 397 cases today, 105 are from Srinagar, 88 from Baramulla, 13 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama 18 from Kupwara, 21 from Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 10 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 122 are from Jammu division that include 80 from Jammu district, 06 from Udhampur, 07 from Rajouri, 04 from Doda, 06 from Kuthua , 07 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 08 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,697,186 persons in J&K are under observation while 128 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,551 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,687,451 persons have completed the surveillance period and 284 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,141,538 samples are available.
“Out of 26,141,538 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,676,375 while 465,163 have tested positive, among them 4,511 cases are active, 455,840 have recovered and 4,772 persons have died,” it added.
