Start appraisals of all faculty members on monthly basis: Hr Edu Dept to Colleges

Srinagar, Aug 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has asked all the colleges to start appraisals of all the faculty members on monthly basis.
The department has said, “Faculty appraisal shall be adopted by every college as per the format provided by the department.”
“Monthly appraisal reports along with scores to be prepared for each faculty member and uploaded on the portal prepared for the purpose,” the department said.
Speaking about the collaborative growth, the top officials of the department has said, “Colleges will enter into collaborations and sign MOUs with sister colleges in other states to ensure academic growth and skill enhancement, faculty and student exchange to be encouraged.”
The official also said that the partnerships with Tamil Nadu which is the partner of Jammu and Kashmir under Ek Bharat Shershtha Bharat initiative are especially encouraged.
In the meantime, the department has said that the all the colleges shall offer skill and vocational courses. “While introducing courses, colleges shall carry out an analysis of skill gap and needs of local industries.”
The department has also said that the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) compliance and certification shall be ensured and practical training components shall be an essential part of skill courses.
