Srinagar, Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 452 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 5,045 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,776.
An official said that among 452 new cases, 358 belong to Kashmir division while as 94 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 297,623 including 291,291 recoveries and 2,430 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 172,578 including 169,089 recoveries and 2,346 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,045 including 3,902 from Kashmir division and 1,143 from Jammu division.
With 711 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 460,380 which is 97.91 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 452 cases today, 113 are from Srinagar, 143 from Baramulla, 13 from Budgam, 23 from Pulwama 23 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 10 from Ganderbal, 16 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 94 are from Jammu division that include 59 from Jammu district, 11 from Udhampur, 03 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 06 from Kuthua , 06 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,244 persons in J&K are under observation while 132 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 5,045 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,688,994 persons have completed the surveillance period and 297 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,232,854 samples are available.
“Out of 26,232,854 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,762,653 while 470,201 have tested positive, among them 5,045 cases are active, 460,380 have recovered and 4,776 persons have died,” it added.
