After years of hardships and torment to the people, Jammu and Kashmir is seemingly heading towards the end of corruption as the timely actions as well as the decisions being taken by the government have brought smiles on the faces of thousands of people, who alleged corruption in the departments from time to time. With regard to the corruption free Jammu and Kashmir, the government has decided to celebrate August 5 as the “Day of resolution for freedom from corruption”. Although celebrating the day will not bring any change on the ground as the ground steps are needed to bring respite, the decisions taken from time to time by the government has somehow changed the narrative on the ground and some of the officials and officers involved in the crime have been arrested. Around 200 cases of corruption have been received in Jammu and Kashmir by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) while the efforts of making J&K digital would also push towards ensuring corruption free and transparent governance at the doorsteps of the people. It seems that the administration is serious in putting an end to the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir. To ensure the goal is achieved, there is a need to take more stringent decisions and come up with more such reformations that would help to reach the conclusion in an easier manner. The time has come when the people should have some respite from corruption and are not forced to pay hefty sums for their works in different government departments.
