The people seem to have forgotten the moral and religious obligations as some incidents are being reported in Jammu and Kashmir that shake the consciousness of every single individual. From time to time such incidents have taken place, but there seems no end to the illegal and unethical happening in Jammu and Kashmir as in yet another instance, the moral and religious obligations have been thrown to the wind. Shockingly, a newborn baby was found dead in Sherbagh area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district yesterday. It is not for the first time that such an incident has been reported, but took place in Srinagar and other districts as well. An official had said that it seems someone dumped the baby’s body and threw it into the water body. As a couple of such incidents have been reported so far in Jammu and Kashmir, one fails to understand why the concerned department has failed to come up with stern action and on priority identify such people, who are behind such heinous crimes. There is a need to put brakes on such happenings and ensure that such events and episodes are put to an immediate end. Moreover, the religious organizations and the leaders have the obligation to create awareness among the masses in this regard and start a process to work hand-in-hand with the government to ensure that such incidents are stopped forthwith. There is a need to play a role in unison to identify such criminals so that stern action is initiated against them.
