Ganderba, Aug 19: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson, Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq Friday visited several villages of Faaq area to listen to public grievances and inspect the ongoing developmental projects.
In Shuhama village, DDC Chairperson, kick-started the blacktopping work of the road.
Meanwhile, DDC chairperson met the locals who apprised her of various issues of public importance in their area and sought immediate redressal of the same. They put forth their issues and grievances which include macadamization of roads, sanction of Nayabat, Fire Service station, improvement in drinking water supply and desilting/ dredging of Canals.
Among other demands, the people sought intervention of DDC with regard to upgradation of health care facilities at PHC Shuhama and also highlighted the need of sufficient medical staff in the hospital.
The DDC Chairperson gave a patient hearing to all the grievance and demands that were put forth by the PRIs and locals and assured them that all issues shall be taken into consideration for their timely redressal. She said that 4 crore has been sanctioned this year to remove bottlenecks from the Canals of the area.
Addressing the gathering, Nuzhat said that she will lead a delegation of PRIs and Civil Society members and will meet Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha for redressal of the issues and demands of people of Ganderbal district.
DDC Ganderbal C, Moulvi Mohd Yousuf, other PRIs, besides Ex MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar and prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
