DC Kulgam visits cloudburst affected areas of Noorabad

Kulgam, Aug 29: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday visited cloudburst and hailstorm hit Tangmarg, Cheki Watoo and other areas of Noorabad to take first hand appraisal of the damages caused in the area.
During the visit, the DC along with the officers and locals conducted on-site inspection of various areas and sites and took stock of damages caused by cloudburst in Tangmarg, Cheki Watoo and other villages.
On the occasion, delegations of people from Tangmarg, Cheki Watoo and other areas apprised the DC about various issues and put forth their demands too. They also apprised the DC that the area suffered huge losses due to hailstorm and cloudburst.
The DC instructed the assessment teams to expedite the process of damage assessment within a day for immediate relief disbursement.
Dr Bilal also approved Rs.50 lac for restoration and repairs of works and to meet developmental demands of the people raised during the visit.
Later, the DC also visited village CS Rather where he met scores of delegations and listened to their demands, issues and grievances for early redressal.
All the issues and demands of the people were listened to patiently by the DC and he assured the people that all their demands with regard to power and drinking water will be resolved at an earliest.
After people raised demand for development of the rest of the road from CS Rather, the DC personally inspected the bottleneck impeding the development of this road along with the engineers and other officers.
He stressed upon concerned to explore ways and possibilities to ensure early development of this road by removing all bottlenecks.
Accompanying the DC were SDM Noorabad, ACR, ACD, Tehsildar and other officers.
