Srinagar, Sep 16: The District Srinagar Thang-Ta championship concluded Friday at Thang-Ta Hall, Bakshi Stadium, here.
The championship sponsored by J&K Sports Council was organized by District Srinagar Thang-Ta Association in collaboration with J&K Thang-Ta Association. More than 300 players participated in the championship.
Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Chief Accounts Officer, Sports Council presided over the closing ceremony as the chief guest and Jahangir Ahmad Mir, Public Relation Officer Sports Council was the guest of honour on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal said that Sports Council’s special initiative of ‘My Youth My Pride’ is aimed at inclusive growth of all the athletes and Council has embarked on the mission to reach out to every nook and corner of the union territory to tap the talent and groom them under the tutelage of specialists in the field.
Meanwhile, J&K Sports Council in association with J&K Body Building Association is organizing the first of its kind “Chinab Valley BodyBuilding Competition” on 24th and 25th September 2022 in district Kishtwar followed by “Mr. Kashmir” next month.
Moreover, a bodybuilding competition is slated to be held in the last week of October making way for winners to participate in Mr. India 2021-22 competition later this year in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gull has directed the concerned association to activate the district units across the union territory immediately.
She said that under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” concerned association will run a campaign across the J&K and aware youth about the positive impact of the healthy lifestyle on the routine.
