Baramulla, Sep 17: As part of ongoing ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign’, the District Administration Baramulla under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Saturday carried out an array of activities meant to disseminate awareness about sanitation and its importance among the masses.
Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign is a fortnight campaign launched on 15th September to 2nd October for undertaking sanitation and related activities aiming to generate jan andolan through community participation.
At the outset, the DC in presence of SSP Baramulla Mohammad Rayees and MC President Tauseef Raina among other functionaries flagged-off a rally of students and Swachhta warriors which traversed through different locations. The participants were carrying banners and placards displaying messages and slogans for awareness to the general public.
Similarly, various stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, prominent citizens among others, participated in cleanliness drives wherein several locations and places, having vital public significance were cleaned for larger public convenience.
Meanwhile, Dr Sehrish informed about the campaign and said that such a drive was launched with an aim to maintain hygiene at places of public significance. She said that such an ambitious mission conveys a pious message which should be followed in letter and spirit.
The DC also stressed for active participation of all stakeholders for achieving the desired goals of the programme.
