The passage through the commercial hub Lal Chowk and other busiest places have turned out to be a hectic process for the common man as the beggars despite the government orders continue to be found seeking alms in the markets, leaving the people—both pedestrians and commuters in trouble. Such a situation is being witnessed despite the government’s direction in which seeking alms in the markets, outside religious places has been banned. But, one fails to understand why the government orders are not being implemented on the ground. The commuters are facing immense hardships whenever they are stuck at the traffic signals as most of the times, the non-local beggars approach them to seek alms, thus increasing the threat of the accident as well. The beggars, who are of different age groups, could be seen seeking alms in the open, but there is no one to take action against them and ensure that the common people don’t face hardships. Allowing the non-local beggars to seek alms can prove fatal as without caring about the moving vehicles, these beggars cross the road without looking right and left. There is a dire need to at least stop the beggars from seeking alms at the traffic signals to ensure that no one gets hurt and the people could heave a sigh of relief. It is the high time when we should take steps to prevent the possible accidents at these junctures so that the precious lives are saved well on time.
