Mandatory process begins

A process that has been started to identify the accident-prone areas in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to assist in curbing the fatal tragedies and life consuming accidents, but the process must not remain confined to the papers only like the past, which continued to claim the lives and also wounded many people across the Union Territory so far. The constitution of district-level committees that have been tasked to identify such spots in the district and come up with a comprehensive report forthwith is the beginning of possible change with regard to curbing the accidents. The committees will carry out the identification process of accident prone areas and traffic congestion areas on the major roads of their respective districts, which will further help in coming up with a plan to plug the loopholes. One needs to understand that identifying such spots is the need of the hour and only after recognizing such spots, further measures and steps can be taken. But, one should not forget that in the past, such measures have also been started, however, couldn’t reach the logical conclusion due to the non-seriousness of the erstwhile successive regimes. Amid the further increase in the number of accidents, the action is the only hope for the people here to bring some respite from the tragedies. Therefore, the district committees must be directed to speed up the work and ensure that the comprehensive report is submitted for further necessary action so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief.
