He further said that from Zero bridge to Amira Kadal stretch, the work to come up with landscaping, redesigning, walkways, cycling tracks is already going on, adding that from Amira Kadal to Chattabal stretch, four major works are being done for beautification and upgradation of the river Jhelum embankments.
“All the 42 ghats that have come under debris will be restored. The work in this regard has already been started. The debris on both the embankments will be removed while the debris around the bridges will also be removed. The fourth major work to be started along the stretch is restoration of the historic places like shrines, temples and other things,” he said.
Asked about the river banks turning into garbage dumping sites at most of the places and any proposal to come with installation of CCTV cameras, he said, at some of the places, the CCTVs cameras have already been installed at a few places only while water quality monitoring systems have also been installed at four places probably.
