Sopore, Dec 21: The administration in Sopore is taking every possible measure to retrieve the body of a girl, who drowned ten days ago, and said that the body is expected to be traced soon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Sopore Parveez Sajad Ganaie said that the administration is on toes and every possible resource is being utilized to trace out the teenager’s body from the Jhelum.
He said that they have been taking enough and sufficient measures in terms of men and machinery during the search operation for the last 10 days in order to retrieve the body.
From day one, the civil administration as well as the police is on the spot, he said. “We arranged the experts, including one from Pulwama, besides extra measures and whatever resources we had, are being utilized in the search operation, however, we are expecting the retrieval of the body soon,” the ADC said.
The ADC termed the incident as tragic and said that the loss of life cannot be compensated in any way.
“As per the experts, the body in winters has less tendency to float as compared to the summer session, but we are expecting the body to reach the border surface within two to three days and would be able to retrieve,” the ADC said.
He also refuted the allegations being levelled by the political leaders about the failures in tracing out the body.
Notably, the attempts to search and fish out the body of a teenage girl who jumped in the river Jhelum at Jamia bridge continued for the 10th consecutive day. (KNO)
