Gurez, Dec 28: Panchayat body seals an Anganwari centre over unauthorised absence of the staff in Markoot village of Gurez in northern district of Bandipora on Wednesday, officials said.
The locals said that the Anganwari Centre at the Markoot village remained locked for months now due to lack of staff from several months”. “We apprised the Panchayat body several times about the issue,” they said.
The said that the panchayat body during its inspection also found the Anganwari Centre closed during the inspection and sealed the center,” the locals said.
Abdul Majeed Mir, one of members of Panchayat body said that under the supervision of Sarpanch, an inspection of Aaganwari centres in Markoot village was conducted and they found concerned workers absent for two months.
He also said that the ration for the month of December has not yet been distributed which is about to expire now. The locals also alleged that many Anganwari centres are locked from months in the area and officials least bothered. (KNO)
