Avalanches: Curb public movement

As road safety remained the top priority of the administration in a bid to prevent loss of lives in the fatal accidents, the traffic police, Srinagar, have identified a few black spots, where the fatal accidents have been reported frequently in the last few years, especially in the year 2022. It has been reported that over 40 per cent of the accidents in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, have occurred at the road stretch from Shalteng-Parimpora and Pantha Chowk, which puts a responsibility on the shoulders of the administration to take immediate measures to ensure that the number of accidents at the black spot is reduced to none to prevent the loss of lives in Srinagar. A total of 48 persons have lost their lives in the road accidents in Srinagar in 2022, but the officials have stated that the efforts are being made to ensure that the graph is reduced and the road accidents are put to an immediate end. The government should come up with a long-lasting solution to reduce the number of road accidents, which are increasing at a rapid pace. There is a need to take concrete measures at the black spots identified by the traffic police so that the motive to reduce the road accidents is achieved. But, public cooperation is imperative at this juncture as without the support, nothing can be achieved. Therefore, there is a need to ensure safe driving and following the rules and regulations so that the efforts that are being made prove fruitful.
