Srinagar, Jan 20: The Sub district hospital Kupwara on Friday successfully carried out thrombolysis on a patient with a stroke.
Thrombolysis, also known as thrombolytic therapy, is a treatment procedure used to dissolve dangerous clots in the blood, particularly in case of a stroke victim.
An official said that a patient with a history of hypertension came to the SDH Kupwara casualty in the afternoon with weakness in his right side of body.
It said that under the guidance of HOD Medicine Dr Sheikh Iqbal, the patient was immediately taken for CT scan brain where Radiologist Dr Wasif confirmed Lacunar infarcts.
He said that patient was then shifted to ER ROOM and SAVE BRAIN INITIATIVE GROUP neurologists were consulted and Thrombolsis was done by Dr Syed Dr Ayjaz, Dr Zia ul Islam, Dr Sahil Surani and Dr Ashraf alongside paramedical staff of ER (Nisar, Showket, Bilal Ahmad and Saqib). (KNO)
