Ramadhan: Cultivating piety through Worship, Quran, Charity, Self-Control

After the abrogation of Article 370, the Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing a change on the ground as from observing strike on the eve of Republic Day, the markets remained open for the first time since 90’s on this day and private vehicles were seen plying without ant hindrance, indicating a visible change and an end of the strike politics that was being played for decades in the Valley. The separatist leaders would usually call for strike on the eve of Republic Day and the roads used to wear deserted look as the public transport used to remain off the road while the markets too remained shut throughout the day. However, today’s change is visible on the ground as most of the markets remained open where the people were seen buying essentials and other things today while the private vehicles were seen plying from one place to another. The situation was similar everywhere as there is no place where a complete shutdown like the past was observed, but the day pointed toward the complete change and mindset of the people. It seems that the government’s efforts to bring a long-lasting peace are proving fruitful, but the people need to be commended for shifting their focus from separatist politics to a peace. The public cooperation in ensuring peace and progress on the ground in Jammu and Kashmir has to be commended by the people at the helm of affairs.
