While the weather conditions have changed across the Valley, the government has come up with a fresh direction, changing the school timings outside the municipal limits in Kashmir. The fresh school timing was usually announced at a time when the schools were being opened after the three-month-long winter break, but the timing has now been changed at a time when the weather conditions have almost changed and the winter season has culminated in the valley. The students were being asked to reach schools early in the morning at 9:00 AM when the winter period was still prevailing in the Valley, forcing the little children to face tremendous hardships many times, especially whenever Kashmir received rains. However, when the maximum temperature has started increasing in Kashmir, the government has announced new school timing in Kashmir falling outside the municipal limits. The new timings for the government and the recognised private schools falling outside Srinagar Municipal limits will be from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The order shall be implemented from April-01, which shall be adhered to strictly by all the concerned institutions. Earlier on February 28, the government had changed school timing in Srinagar city from 9.00 AM to 2.00 PM. Keeping in view the summer season and rise in the maximum temperature, the government should consider its decision for the wellbeing of the students and ensure that the school-going children are not forced to face hardships.
