Baramulla, Apr 1: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have arrested 113 drug peddlers in the last 3 months.
The data revealed by the police said that 7 drug peddlers were booked under Public Safety Act while at least 75 cases under NDPS Act stand registered against the drug addicts and peddlers in different police stations of Baramulla.
Police said that contraband substances including Brown Sugar, Charas, Poppy Straw, etc worth crores have been recovered from the arrested drug peddlers.
Police as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust said that 11 vehicles used for the transportation of drugs and drug peddlers have also been seized in the last 3 months in the Baramulla district.
Some of the arrested drug peddlers include females as well.
Meanwhile, police arrested a drug peddler carrying 48-gram charas at the Batapora Kunzar area of Baramulla district on Saturday. He has been identified as Firdous Mir of Gonipora Kunzar. [KNT]
