Srinagar, Apr 3: Police busted an alleged sex racket in Srinagar outskirts on late Monday evening.
After receiving specific inputs, a police party from police station Chanapora raided a house in Bagh-e-Mehtab area and arrested two kingpins and four sex workers.
Police said the duo were running the brothel for a long time. They identified the duo as Irhad Bhat, a resident of Pampore Pulwama and Shafi Hajam from Karimabad Pulwama.
Police arrested 4 sex workers who according to them all hail from Srinagar.
Police said that this prostitution racket was being run from a rented accommodation by the accused.
Two customers present during the police raid were also arrested.
Overall 8 persons including two kingpins, 4 sex workers and 2 customers have been put behind the bar.
Police said that a formal case has been registered at police station Chanapora Srinagar.
