Police arrest three drug peddlers in Baramulla

Srinagar, Apr 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Friday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police party of PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chellan Boniyar, arrested a drug peddler identified as Shakeel Ahmad son of Mohd Hanief Kandal resident of Mawer Nowgam Kupwara. During search, 127 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, a police spokesman said in a statement.
Similarly, a Police party of PP Mirgund during patrolling at Mirchimar Mirgund arrested 02 drug peddlers identified as Gh Mohammad Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar resident of Mirgund & Manzoor Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar resident of Chenbal Mirgund. During search, 252 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police said.
“Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated,” police said.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” police said.
