Bandipora, May 8: The Higher Secondary School Shadipora on Monday organised an awareness programme under the ‘Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan’ (NMBA) to raise awareness regarding eradicating the drug menace.
Students of the institute actively participated in the programme. .
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the HSS lauded the participation of students and staff in such programmes. He advised the students to use time wisely and for constructive purpose in order to focus on career.
He called for joint efforts of various stakeholders vis a vis eradicating the drug menace from the society and stressed on the slogan” Say No to drugs” in order to achieve the goal of drug free society. He said society as a whole and family has an important role to play against drug abuse.
Students of the institution deliberated on the theme with great flairs and participated in multiple competitions viz. speeches, quiz, slogan writing, painting and essay writing.
The toppers from each category were later felicitated by the Principal and Jury members.
A rally was also flagged-off by the Principal, Dr G M Puju in presence of senior staff and the students with slogans “Say No to Drugs”, “Lets Make Our society, Drug Free” etc raised and with the message to make the area drug free.
The rally proceeded to main market Shadipora and culminated at the Main campus of the institution.
