Care, comfort, compassion towards patients hallmark of nursing: DC Srinagar

Srinagar, May 12: In connection with “International Nurses Day” a programme was held at Arsh Institute of Health Science and Technology, Khonmoh under the theme of “Our Nurses, Our Future” to commemorate birth anniversary of “Florence Nightingale” pioneer of Modern Nursing.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said the “International Nurses Day” provides us an opportunity to recognize the contributions of Nurses around the world, who work tirelessly to provide quality healthcare services to patients. He also lauded nursing workforce for their dedication and significant contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic and other exigent situations.
While highlighting the significance of the theme of International Nurses Day 2023, “Our Nurses, Our Future” the DC said that the Nurses have a great responsibility in day to day patientcare setup. He further said that the day also reminds us to honour Nurses and acknowledge their contributions to improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities around the world.
On the occasion, the DC also appreciated the Arsh Institute of Health Science and Technology, Khonmoh Srinagar for converting the Institution into an Isolation Unit with all facilities during the COVID-19 outbreak.
CMD, Arsh Institute of Health and Technology, Mohammad Anwar Khan also spoke on the occasion and emphasized on the fact that Nursing has evolved into a profession with wealth of Skills and professional knowledge.
During the programme, culture programs were also presented on the theme by the participants.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the students who bagged the 1st position in University Examination and distributed prizes among them.
Administrator of the Institute, Gulzar Ahmad Banday, other Staff members and Students were present on the occasion.
