The administration in Jammu & Kashmir has observed August 5 as the ‘Day of resolution for freedom from corruption’ while several functions were held across Jammu & Kashmir in a bid to vow and take pledge to eliminate the corruption from Jammu & Kashmir. However, to pave the way for corruption free-J&K, the government has come up with 675 online services to make sure that the people are not forced to visit the offices where they will be asked to pay bribes or any kind of amount that is not permissible as per the law. The government in such a way has curbed the public movement within the government offices and thus simultaneously has declined the corruption practices as well. Nonetheless, some of the complaints and incidents of corruption practices have been witnessed in the recent past, but the concerned authorities have taken strict action against them, who were trapped and subsequently arrested for demanding and accepting bribes from the common masses. A few statements issued by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) are pointing towards that the corruption practices might have declined, but have not come to an end in Jammu & Kashmir. Therefore, the government needs to tighten its noose further in all the departments across Jammu & Kashmir to ensure that no official involved in such practices is spared and strict action is taken against all of them for pushing the common masses to the wall. It is the time when all the departments as well as locals should work shoulder to shoulder with the ACB and ensure all these corrupted officials are shown the doors to ensure corruption free J&K.
