DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for Mega Bangus Adventure Festival

Kupwara, Sep 5: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan Tuesday convened a meeting of officers in the Meeting Hall of DC Office here to review the preparations for upcoming Bangus Adventure Festival-2023 scheduled to be held on 10th September.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding various components of preparations including recreational and adventure activities, transportation and parking plan; sanitation and drinking water etc to be provided during the festival.
The DC stressed that the event should showcase the rich eco-tourism and adventure tourism of the area; besides, there should be proper promotion of the festival and other facilities to achieve the ultimate objective of making Bangus Valley a prominent tourist destination.
Ayushi directed all the concerned Officers to work in close coordination and ensure fool-proof arrangements well in advance for the smooth and successful conduct of the Bangus festival.
This time, the Bangus festival is being organised on a bigger scale and we are expecting a huge tourist footfall on the Bangus festival day and all departments have to contribute positively, said the DC.
In the meeting it was decided that the Bangus festival will be showcasing activities including Paragliding, Horse racing, Hot air balloon, ATVs, Zorbing, Mini-golf, Tug of war, Cultural event, live painting, Volleyball, martial arts.
It was also decided in the meeting that local Dhocks will be beautified and hoardings for tourism promotion will be put up at different locations in the district.
CMO Kupwara, Chief Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry officers were directed to conduct two different Medical camps in Bangus on the day of the event.
R&B department, RDD, Municipal committees, Kupwara, Handwara and Langate have been directed to conduct sanitation drives in Bangus in advance to ensure the cleanliness of the Bangus Valley. CEO, LBDDA and Tehsildar Kralpora have been nominated as Nodal Officers for the Bangus festival.
Among others the meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas, ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan; ADC Kupwara, Gh. Nabi Bhat; CEO LBDDA, Gh. Jeelani Zargar; Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; Exen R&B, Exen PHE and Tehsildar Kralpora.
