Shopian, Nov 15: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone Wednesday presided over a mega Block Diwas at Keller, here to assess the local issues and listen to the grievances of the people for speedy disposal of the same with the intervention of senior government officers and representatives of panchayat institutions.
While interacting with the PRIs and public, the ADDC said that the Block Diwas is being organised across the length and breadth of the JK UT, with the sole objective to provide a more transparent, accountable, public-friendly and responsive Administration to the people. This initiative of the government is contributing immensely to good governance, he said.
On this occasion, the ADDC took review department-wise performance of works completed and directed the concerned department heads to complete other ongoing works expeditiously and submit the action taken report before next scheduled block diwas.
The ADDC directed all line departments to ensure that all the departments are on fore-front to provide every possible and each facility to the general public of Keller and stressed for gearing up their activities on war footing basis keeping in view the ensuing winter.
Dr Nasir said that the District Administration is making all efforts to provide all the basic amenities to the common masses at their doorsteps.
The various hurdles and bottlenecks in the social security schemes were also resolved on the spot with the convergence of multiple departments.
It was informed that five lakh man days were generated under MGNREGA in Keller besides repairing of lanes, drains and other road connectivity to facilitate the general public by the department of Rural Development.
ADDC applauded the RDD for its best performance in Keller Shopian and emphasized all other departments to work with dedication for the wellbeing of the people.
Assistant Commissioner, Development, Hilal Ahmed Jeri; State Tax Officer, Shopian and BDO, Keller were present in the camp besides, people in large numbers also attended the camp.
