Keep Kashmir connected

The large queues were witnessed at the fuel stations across Jammu & Kashmir after the transporters called strike to protest against the newly introduced penal law, demanding immediate revocation of the rule, claiming it is against the aspirations of lakhs of the transporters across the nation. The strike has however, led to chaos as many fuel stations were running short of petrol, with the administration claiming that adequate stock is available and there was no need to panic over the issue. It has been witnessed that the people in J&K always run in a hurry rush to keep the stock available at home whenever there is any such situation, but the fact is that the huge rush of people at the fuel stations create a chaos among the people, giving an impression that the fuel will no longer be available in the valley. Although the government has made it clear that the adequate stock is available, there is a need to calm the situation and therefore, the people need to behave so that those in need can avail the benefits, rather than creating a chaotic situation. Moreover, the administration should issue a strict direction to the fuel stations at this juncture to avoid giving petrol to the people who are turning up with cans, bottles and other related things, so that the flow of people at these stations would decrease. The fuel station owners should also streamline the operation by avoiding giving petrol to the people in bottles and other things, which would certainly help in calming the situation and also easing the chaotic scenes being witnessed at present.
