DC Ganderbal reviews Republic Day arrangements

Ganderbal, Jan 4: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Thursday chaired the meeting of officers and other stakeholders to review the arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day function, here.
The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria stadium Ganderbal where the chief guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the March past.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on various arrangements to be put in place at the venue for the National function, including preparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, podium, security, seating, transportation, barricading, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders, snow clearance and sanitation measures.
It was informed that the march past will be presented by the contingents drawn from District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, NCC, PTS Manigam and students of various educational institutions. Besides, theme based Cultural programs shall also be presented by the students during the function.
Reviewing the preparations for March Past, the DDC directed the concerned to ensure necessary training is provided to the students. It was decided that the preparations shall be held under the supervision of SSP Ganderbal.
Chief Education Officer, District Youth Services & Sports Officer and Cultural Officer were directed to ensure arrangements for the cultural programme for the Day.
ADC Ganderbal was nominated as Nodal Officer to monitor the preparedness activities regarding the Republic Day celebrations.
The meeting also discussed the arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations to be held at Panchayat, Block and Sub-division levels. The DDC directed the concerned to ensure graceful functions are organized at all identified venues in the district.
All sub Divisional and Block level officers were directed to make respective arrangements accordingly.
Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gulzar Ahmad, ACR, CPO, ACD, SDM Kangan and District Heads of various departments besides officials of security agencies.
