ARTO B’la organizes Road Safety Awareness Program

Baramulla, Jan 17: In line with the ongoing 35th National Road Safety Month, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Baramulla Wednesday organized a Road Safety Awareness Program at Bus Stand Sopore.
The event aimed to sensitize the general public and drivers about the importance of safe driving and adherence to traffic rules.
During the program, more than one hundred drivers were educated about various road safety norms. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Muazzam Ali, emphasized the significance of different traffic rules and urged all stakeholders in society to acknowledge their responsibilities towards better traffic management and road safety.
Ali highlighted that while changing driving behavior may take time, education remains the key to achieving this transformation. The event at Bus Stand Sopore was part of a broader initiative to promote responsible driving practices and reduce road accidents.
Meanwhile, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) officials in BaramullA also undertook a significant initiative to bolster road safety by distributing road safety stickers to motorists at various taxi stands.
Officials actively engaged with the community at Sumo Stand Baramulla. The campaign extended to affixing stickers on two-wheelers, maxi cabs, and other vehicles, aiming to promote safe driving practices among commuters.
Emphasizing the importance of adherence to road safety norms, the campaign targeted discouraging mobile phone usage while driving, along with addressing the risks associated with drinking and driving, overloading and over speeding.
The ARTO Office Baramulla continues to play an active role in fostering a safer road environment, and such awareness programs contribute significantly to creating a culture of responsible driving within the community.
