Take strict action

Amidst the road safety week, the authorities here have taken a strict action against some youth, who were involved in violating the norms by indulging in stunts that could have proven fatal for all the youngsters. Some of the youngsters were seen clicking pictures on the running four-wheeler while a video has also gone viral on the social media following which the authorities concerned identified the vehicle and took a strict action against all of them. The vehicle was seized as well. Such actions should not be tolerated at all as there are several instances when these actions resulted in fatal accidents, causing loss of precious lives. There is a need to ensure that such actions are put to an end for which the parents, guardians, teachers as well as the religious clerics need to guide the youngsters by creating awareness of road safety among them. As the week-long events are presently going on, the society in general and youngsters in particular should take part in the events so that awareness on road safety measures are created among them, which would help in reducing the number of road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, the concerned authorities should identify all the people involved in stunts and other related things so that strict action is taken against them and the others would take a lesson and stop getting indulged in such activities. The road safety rules and regulations are must for one and all as it helps in ensuring safety of every single commuter.
