Pulwama, Jan 27: The residents of Pulwama have appreciated the just action by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama for ordering cancellation of fraudulent selection of an Anganwadi Worker in Ratnipora village.
As per the order issued by the Child Development Project Officer Kakapora under number CDPO Poshan/Kak/2024/77 O- DL, the selection of an applicant of Ratnipora as Anganwadi worker (AWW) has been cancelled as she didn’t belong to the Panchayat Ward where the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) is located.
“During the spot verification carried by this office regarding the actual Ward which was taken into cognizance due to the residence of AWH (Anganwadi worker) of the AWC at the time of recommendation, it is noticed that the Ward recommended for selection is contradictory to standing HR Policy issued vide No: 222-JK (SWD) of 2022 dated 30.11.2022. The actual Ward for engagement of AWW Ratnipora B is Ward PC-5 instead of PC-1. In view of the above, the engagement order issued in your favour vide this office order No: 38 of 2024 dated 02.01.2024 is hereby cancelled ab-initio,” said the order issued by CDPO Kakapora.
Officials sources said that the action against the fraud selection was taken after the residents of Ward 5 in Ratnipora B Halqa apprised the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and ICDS officials.
Official sources in ICDS said the selection of wrong candidate was favoured by officials of CDPO Kakapora in “lieu of bribe”.
“We appreciate the justice done to us by the DC. He should take action against the erring officials of CDPO Kakapora, who refused our applications when the Anganwadi Worker post was advertised, even as we had pointed out the post falls in Ward 5 Anganwadi Centre,” the residents said.
They alleged that the fraud advertisement and selection was managed by the CDPO clerical staff at Kakapora by “keeping the selection committee in dark and feeding them wrong information.”
Sources said that Deputy Commissioner Pulwama has sought a report from the CDPO Kakapora about this fraudulent selection. “Legal action should be taken against the erring officials and they should be removed from Kakapora CDPO Office so that such frauds don’t happen in upcoming selections,” the residents said.
