Budgam, Jan 29: Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Mandeep Kaur Monday presided over a Public Darbar, at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex here.
After holding izband ceremony, Commissioner Secretary listened to the general public of Budgam, who raised their suggestions and demands for redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary stressed on creating awareness on all government schemes and flagship programmes among the general public.
Mandeep Kaur assured that all genuine public grievances shall be taken up with concerned departments for early redressal.
She directed concerned officers to ensure prompt service delivery and early disposal of public grievances.
While taking detailed review regarding the status action taken of public demands raised in last public darbar held at Magam, the Commissioner Secretary acknowledged the efforts of District Administration Budgam for its attempt at timely action on the issues.
Mandeep Kaur stressed on making people aware on utilization of funds under different sectors for their awareness of ongoing developmental works and status of grievances redressal through a dedicated online portal.
Commissioner Secretary encouraged good public participation in public darbar , which she said acts as a bridge between government and general public.
She instructed on expediting work on all ongoing projects including JJM, Health, Education and other sectors for speedy work completion and that the same are dedicated to the general public at the earliest.
On the occasion, Commissioner Secretary also distributed sanction letters and felicitated various beneficiaries under different schemes.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo deliberated upon the action taken against all genuine demands of last darbar.
He said that among other projects, a 10 kilometre road upgradation project from Rayar- Doodhpathri has been approved and work on the same shall be taken up for execution in short time.
He said that the District Administration Budgam is also closely monitoring the progress in construction of Indoor Stadium at Khansahib.
In order to improve educational facilities, a patch of 300 kanals of land has been transferred for establishment of Cluster University in the district.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary, accompanied by DC Budgam also inspected work progress on Multi- Car Parking, aesthetic upgradation of Park at Old Bus Stand and Townhall Budgam.
SSP Budgam, Al Tahir Gillani, ADDC, Dr Akramullah Tak, CPO, SDMs and all district and Sectoral officers also attended the Public Darbar.
