Put teachers at the centre

The roads might have been decorated in Srinagar, but the commuters always have to face a tough time whenever they ply through the interiors of Srinagar City as the congested roads have not been widened despite being the long pending demand of the local populace. It has been witnessed that the people usually remain stuck in the traffic congestion in the City areas here as the congested roads are hampering the hassle-free passage to the commuters. Already, the project was taken up to ensure that the roads are congested especially from Habba Kadal to Baba Demb locality, but unfortunately, the issue couldn’t be taken up despite shifting some of the families from the locality. However, the bottlenecks have not been removed till now, thereby pushing the commuters to the wall. The Old City areas are getting new spots where the rush of tourists is expected to increase, but amidst the congested roads, the people will be forced to face immense hardships. The exclusively pedestrian bridge, which has been constructed similar to the Zero Bridge in Rajbagh, is expected to bring a footfall of visitors to the locality in the summer season especially, but the congested roads would end up in sufferings to the people. Therefore, the government should also take up the issue of widening of roads with the concerned department at earliest so that the issues being faced by the commuters, especially the commuters will be addressed at the shortest possible time.
