The essential services that are meant to remain open round-the-clock, usually are being closed after 9 or 10 PM, leaving hundreds of commuters to suffer on a regular basis. The fuel stations are being provided the registrations on the name of essential services, but in Kashmir, the situation is quite contrary as these stations don’t adhere to what actually they are supposed to do. These fuel stations are meant to remain open for the commuters throughout the night as well, but the owners have kept the stations for business purposes only as the needs of people are being ignored without caring about the government action. However, such is the situation that these fuel stations have never been dealt with as per the law for landing the commuters in trouble, who are in need of fuel during night hours. During the night hours, people usually travel to take their patients to the hospitals or for any other emergency cases. The people in need should get the essential services round-the-clock; thereby the government should intervene in the matter and ensure that the fuel stations remain open during the night as well, so that the commuters, especially those in need, could heave a sigh of relief. There is a need to issue a proper schedule for the fuel stations so that the petrol pumps will remain available for the people during night hours on rotational basis, which will end the miseries of the people in need.
