Baramulla, May 8: Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Amod Nagpure Wednesday highlighted the concerted efforts of the Baramulla police in combating drug abuse.
In a brief chat, SSP said, “Over the past year, the police force has implemented various measures to ensure a drug-free Baramulla, including taking strong action against those involved in drug peddling. One notable initiative is the adoption of the latest GPS tracking technology to monitor the movement of bailed-out drug peddlers. Through the use of GPS anklets, the police can closely monitor the activities of these individuals and ensure compliance with bail conditions, thereby preventing them from engaging in further drug-related activities.”
SSP Nagpure emphasized the significant progress made by the Baramulla police in curbing drug abuse and reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the youth from this perilous menace. He expressed gratitude to the people of the district for their support and cooperation in the police’s efforts.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Baramulla police, in collaboration with drug detection centers, is actively organizing awareness camps and seminars to educate the youth about the dangers of substance abuse. These initiatives aim to empower the community with knowledge and resources to combat the drug epidemic effectively.
