Kulgam, Sep 4: Former minister and National Conference leader Sakina Itoo Wednesday called for the active involvement of Ulmas (Islamic scholars) in addressing the growing social evils among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. She made these comments while addressing a public gathering in Zangalpora and Sahoo area of Kulgam district.
Itoo emphasized that the rising issues, such as drug abuse and other destructive behaviors, can be effectively mitigated by engaging religious leaders to guide young people towards positive and ethical practices. She highlighted the significant influence of Ulmas in shaping societal values and urged them to play a central role in steering the youth away from harmful activities.
While highlighting escalating unemployment crisis in J&K she said that this growing frustration is pushing many youths towards drug abuse. We must address the rising social evils in J&K by involving religious leaders or Ulmas to guide the youth towards religious practices.
She also accuses PDP of being close ally of BJP and claimed that PDP is responsible for bringing the BJP into power in J&K.
