The cricket enthusiasts are quite happy and overjoyed with the decision of holding the last leg of Legends League Cricket in the Valley, which would revive international cricket in the Valley after the gap of nearly 50 years. With this decision, one of the prominent cricketers, Abid Nabi has also been selected in one of the franchises, participating in the league. Many big names, who played for their countries for a longer period, are visiting Kashmir in the next month to kick-start the international cricket once again. The happiness and jubilations are all around as the people here have been waiting for the day when the 124 legends will be playing here again. The legends include West Indies player Chris Gayle, England’s Ian Bell and many big names of Indian team like Irfan Pathan, Yousuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Muhammad Kaif, Numan Ahoja and others will be playing for their respective franchises. However, the revival of international cricket must not remain confined to LLC only, but the government should work in the right directions at this juncture and ensure that the other leagues like Indian Premier League (IPL) and other tournaments are played here as well. The time has come when the young talent in Kashmir needs to be provided an opportunity to see their idol players playing in their homeland, which would further boost their morale and help them in achieving their feat in the times to come.
