Srinagar, Oct 23: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Wednesday emphasised on bringing vibrancy in the industries sector for economic growth and employment creation for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister said this while taking review of the industries sector here at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar. He underscored the importance of revitalizing the industries sector to propel economic growth and employment creation.
The Dy. CM highlighted the sector’s potential to drive economic development and job creation, stressing the need for innovative strategies to boost industrial growth. He emphasized the government’s commitment towards fostering a conducive business environment, encouraging entrepreneurship and attracting investments. He said that the vibrancy in this sector will also play important role to enhance its contribution to J&K’s GDP.
Besides this, stress was also laid on generating job opportunities for the local youth through promotion of MSMEs, startups and large-scale industries in J&K.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to identify areas for improvement and implement effective policies, develop infrastructure to support industrial growth and ensure ease of doing business for the aspiring entrepreneurs.
Surinder Choudhary said that the government’s vision for a vibrant industries sector is expected to transform the J&K economic landscape, creating opportunities for sustainable growth and development.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed for undertaking regular meetings in order to speed up implementation by removing impediments and bottlenecks, if any. This will ensure that the developmental schemes being executed under different sectors and centrally sponsored schemes are closed within the stipulated time avoiding the cost escalation and related things.
“The officers should ensure that the schemes are completed and the funds allocated for a particular activity or initiatives are utilized to the maximum,” he said and maintained that the line departments should also work in a coordinated manner while carrying on developmental works.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Vikramjit Singh and Directors of Industries and Commerce Jammu/Kashmir, Handicrafts and Handlooms, MD JKTPO, MD SIDCO, SICOP, Director EDI, MD JKI, MD JKCL, CEO JK-KVIB and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
