Keep Kashmir connected

This winter the people have high hopes about an end to the power paucity in the Valley where the electricity usually plays hide and seek amidst the harsh winter conditions. The newly elected government led by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reviewed the situation and the directions were passed to ensure there is strict adherence to the electricity schedule. However, as the winter is approaching, the people have high hopes with the newly elected government as the party at the helm of affairs has been very vocal against the erstwhile Lieutenant Governor led administration for failing to ensure better electricity to the consumers. In this season, the people are hopeful that the power paucity will end. The winter season has brought misery to the people across Kashmir in the past when it comes to the electricity supply as it usually remains off whenever the wet weather conditions prevail in the Valley. The snowfall during the winter season has never brought happiness to the people in terms of electricity as they usually reel under darkness during the period. It will be interesting to see whether there will be any change in the power schedule this winter or if the situation remains unchanged. The people here are expecting relief from the pesky power cuts but the time will decide whether the newly elected government will come up to the expectations of the consumers or will continue to push them towards reeling under darkness.
