Chairperson DDC Shopian reviews RDD works

Shopian, Nov 2: Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Shopian, Bilqees Jan Saturday chaired a meeting of Council at Circuit House Shopian to review the Rural Development Department (RDD) works in the district.
During the meeting, Block wise development scenario was reviewed along with redressal of spillover works of last financial year.
The Block Development Officers were directed to submit non feasibility reports of works, if any, along with zero tender works. The officials were called for enhanced contractor participation in works execution and replacement plans if any, contractor accountability in works execution.
Emphasis was laid on weekly block review meetings to be taken by concerned DDC Members, formation of Monitoring Cell for tendering, issuance of MGNREGA works authorities as per labour budget, review of job cards deleted last year.
The meeting stressed on conducting Gram Sabhas in open grounds with ensuring mass participation of people for plan formulation.
The meeting was attended by V. Chairperson, Irfan Manhas and DDC members of the district.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), District Development Council Shopian, ADDC Shopian, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Manzoor Ahmad along with Officers and officials of Rural development Department Shopian also attended the meeting.
