Will act against private schools for norm violations: Sakeena Itoo

Srinagar, Nov 5: Education Minister Sakeena Itoo Tuesday said that the government will examine and take action against the private schools who are found violating the norms.
Speaking with reporters, Sakeena, said that the government has already notified norms and criteria regarding charging of tuition and other charges.
She said that private schools in Jammu and Kashmir are being regulated by the government and those hiking fees in violation of norms will be taken to task.
“If, in case, any private school is working against the rules and norms framed by the government, the concerned authorities will accordingly examine and take action against those institutions,” Sakeena said.
Earlier, the minister had said that it has decided to restore the academic session till 9th standard to November-December instead of March.
Sakeena Itoo had said that the government will restore the academic session back to November-December upto to the 9th standard.
“For now, we will restore the academic session back to November-December upto 9th standard. However, for the students of 10th to 12th standard, the government will restore the academic session from next year,” she said.
Earlier in 2022, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education and School Education Department has said that the Uniform Academic Calendar shall be followed from academic year 2022-23.
