Kashmir’s soul incomplete without Noon Chai

Since the weather conditions in Kashmir continued to remain dry, the water level in the reservoirs have dropped, affecting the water supply in Srinagar and other places, causing immense hardships to the people in the Valley. However, the time has come when alternative measures should be taken to tackle the situation, which has been witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir time and again. The receding of water level in the river Jhelum and other streams have not affected the water supply only, but also caused electricity issues in the Valley as well. The low water level is leading to the decline in the electricity generation, which lands the people in trouble. As per the details, Jhelum has recorded the all-time lowest amidst the persistent dry spell, which would likely to continue for the next few days. But, at this juncture, the concerned departments must find the options to tackle the situation of water supply and also the electricity generation as well in a bid to help the consumers across the Valley. The winter season is inching closer and in this season, the people usually face hardships in absence of the adequate electricity, but the already receding water level is all set to push the consumers to the wall as the power generation would get affected once again. Therefore, the government at this juncture should take measures and find some alternative options to mitigate the sufferings of people, especially in the winter season when people across Kashmir usually complain of inadequate electricity.
