Kupwara, Nov 29: A village in north Kashmir’s Handwara has been grappling with darkness for over five days due to a technical snag in the electric transformer. The transformer’s failure has left over 100 households in Astan Mohalla village in Gana Pora, Qaziabad in Kupwara district without electricity.
Locals claim that despite repeated complaints, authorities have turned a blind eye to the issue.
“We have been in complete darkness for five days, and not a single employee has visited us, despite being just 2 km away from PDD Sub Division Langate,” said Jahangir Ahmad, a resident of Gana Pora.
When contacted, an official from PDD said that they were unaware of the issue but are now looking into it. The official assured swift resolution of the issue. [KNT]
