Dr Jitendra inaugurates IIM Jammu 5-day holistic orientation programme for incoming batches

Jammu, Jul 14: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu commenced its five day Holistic Orientation Programme with a grand inaugural ceremony held here Monday at Jagti campus.
The programme marked formal induction of the 6th Batch of Ph.D, 4th Batch of Ph.D. (Working Professionals), 10th Batch of MBA, 4th Batch of MBA in Healthcare Management and the 5th Batch of Executive MBA (EMBA) into the IIM Jammu academic community.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences.
Professor B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, presided over the event.
A special message from Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, was read out by Professor Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu.
Also present on the occasion were Amitava Chatterjee, MD & CEO, J&K Bank, as the guest of honor besides Professor Shakti Gupta, Director, AIIMS Jammu; Professor Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research; Professor Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics; and Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Chairperson, Admissions, IIM Jammu.
A major highlight of the day was inauguration of the newly constructed Hostel Complex by Chief Guest Dr. Jitendra Singh. The complex comprises of four state-of-the-art hostels including Krishna, Sindhu, Narmada, and Yamuna, each with 172 rooms totalling 688 rooms. This remarkable addition to the institute’s infrastructure reaffirms IIM Jammu’s commitment towards providing world-class residential and academic facilities to its students.
In line with the institute’s emphasis on environmental consciousness and sustainability, Dr. Jitendra Singh also participated in a symbolic sapling plantation ceremony, planting a Rudraksh sapling near hostel complex.
The grand inaugural ceremony set an inspiring and enthusiastic tone for the days ahead, as the newly inducted batches prepare to embark on a transformative academic journey at one of India’s most dynamic and rapidly advancing IIMs.
